A Boston University employee said that the Department of Government Efficiency staff are “wanted, dead or alive” for treason.
Jared May, who was listed online as an assistant media technician at Boston University, posted to the social media site Bluesky, a graphic that included pictures of several young men who allegedly work for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The graphic includes the text, “WANTED FOR TREASON, DEAD OR ALIVE.”
DOGE is headed by Elon, the founder and CEO of SpaceX, and Tesla Inc., and seeks to streamline and reduce waste in government. This was a promise made by Donald Trump during his presidential campaign for 2024.
May also wrote a caption listing the names of several young men in the picture.

A representative of the university said in a Boston.com statement, “We’re aware of a posting made by an employee to his personal social media accounts …. We don’t comment on personal matters. The views expressed are not representative of Questrom School Business values.”
May’s Boston University staff website appears to be gone.
Boston University didn’t immediately respond to our request for comment.
Musk replied, “Noticed,” and that “He has committed a criminal” in response to an X post which included a screenshot from May’s Bluesky posting calling for the death of DOGE employees.
We reached out to DOGE on X to get a comment but didn’t receive a reply immediately.
DOGE, which targets government expenditures, has come under fire from Democratic critics.
A post on the X account of Democratic New York Senator Chuck Schumer states: “An unelected Shadow Government is conducting a hostile overthrow of the Federal government.” This statement echoes remarks made by the legislator during a recent press conference. “DOGE isn’t a real government organization. DOGE does not have the authority to make spending decisions. DOGE does not have the authority to stop programs or ignore federal laws. DOGE’s behavior cannot stand. Congress must act to restore the rule of law.”
Musk called the initiative to reduce government waste and bureaucracy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
In response to Schumer, he wrote: “Hysterical responses like this are how you can tell that @DOGE works”
