The Biden-Harris Administration Is Letting Chinese Nicotine Traffickers Infiltrate The U.S.

Joe Biden, the president of the United States, has never been able to see through China’s threat. “China will eat our lunch?” He once said, “Come on man!” I mean, you’re right, they aren’t bad people, folks.

In the United States, “not-bad” people are flooding the market with disposable flavored vapes that are marketed to children directly. The FDA Biden-Harris is ignoring the situation.

The Associated Press reported that “the number electronic cigarette devices in the U.S. have nearly tripled since 2020 to more than 9,000, driven almost exclusively by a surge of disposable vapes imported from China.”

The FDA’s incompetence and fecklessness in tackling the illegal Chinese nicotine trade is evident in the explosive growth of this illicit Chinese tobacco trafficking. In 2018, the FDA labelled vaping among youth as an “epidemic” and, by 2020, it had banned nearly all flavors in flavored electronic cigarettes.

The policy changes made by Chinese companies allowed them to dominate the global market for disposable flavored vapes that contain synthetic nicotine. As Dr. Tom Price, former Secretary of Health and Human Services, wrote, “reports indicate that these Chinese manufacturers also boost these disposable vapes by illegal levels of nicotine in order to increase addiction rates among our children.”

According to the National Youth Tobacco Survey, approximately 2.5 million American youths use e-cigarettes and 85 percent use flavors that are “banned”. Estimates suggest that 90 percent or more of these vaping items originate from China. A report claims that Chinese nicotine traffickers are using social media platforms such as TikTok in order to “influence teens to vape.” #ElfBar is a popular hashtag for a Chinese-made disposable vape brand which sells flavors like Rainbow Cotton Candy. It has received over 2.1 billion views alone on TikTok.

Biden-Harris’ FDA has not been able to stop the majority of these bad actors. To date, the most severe penalties have been warning letters that were sternly formulated from the FDA. It’s no surprise that a recent FDA investigation revealed that Chinese vapes that are banned in the United States can be purchased right next to FDA headquarters in Silver Spring. This massive lack of enforcement raises questions about the FDA’s commitment and transparency to protect public health.

The Reagan-Udall Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization that released a report in which it condemned the FDA for its failure to stop the flood of illicit products. It wrote, “The Agency has not provided transparency regarding the reasons why it has been unable to remove illegal products from the market, or whether this is their policy preference, leading to frustration among stakeholders and, sometimes, increased litigation.”
